Fruit/Object: As long as a hothouse cucumber.

Size: 13.6 to 14.8 inches and 9 inches crown to rump. Baby weighs about 2 pounds.
Baby changes: His/her eyes are open. Baby can tell when it’s light and dark inside the womb. Baby’s brain is developing deeper grooves and furrows in her cerebral cortex which is going to be the command central for functions including her ability to see, hear, smell, speak, and walk. Her brain is already controlling her breathing, digestion and body temp.
Baby’s lungs are developing air sacs and getting ready for it’s first breath. They are also developing surfactant, a substance that will help them expand after birth. Baby’s tiny nostrils, which have been plugged up until now, are starting to open and his vocal chords are getting ready to roar!

Best Moment this past week: Well, last night we met my sister and her family in Gruene. We had dinner at The Gristmill and enjoyed seeing the girls. They are growing up SO fast. Brinley is just the cutest thing and loves to copy her sisters dancing and doing their cheers and she loves to talk and smile. When you give her something she wants she grins from ear to ear! Now, that is better than a thank you! I’ll post some pics of our visit in another post.
Food Craving: I’ve been eating a lot of meat lately. I was craving porcupine meatballs and Blake’s made me steak two nights this past week. Oh, and in case you’ve never heard of porcupine meatballs they are not made out of real porcupine. It’s ground meat and beef rice-a-roni. They are super yummy!
What I miss: Nothing…
Sleep: Still pretty much the same…up once or twice a night to relieve my bladder. Fun times!! (I don’t think this reply is ever going to change...)
What I am looking forward to: We are almost to the middle of June and I’m really looking forward to July because I have some of my showers then. I can’t wait to see my family and friends.
Symptoms: I’ve been having some back and hip pain. I think mostly it’s from sitting all day. I try to get up at least every 30 minutes and walk but it’s hard when I start working away.
