Only two weeks away from Anna's 1st Birthday. I simply cannot believe it. This year has flown by. We found out 19 months ago that we were pregnant. Doesn't that seem like forever ago?? I can remember being pregnant, I haven't totally lost my mind, but it seems like it was ages ago and times was put on fast forward the second Anna was born. Geez. What a crazy, fun, exhilerating, scary, emotional, happy, funny, sad, silly, CRAZY year.
But, the point of the post isn't about me starting to cry (again) and get all sappy about how my precious baby girl is growing up, it's about a fun 1st birthday celebration of our precious baby girl's life! It's a happy time and I love, love, love event planning and I've had the most fun planning and preparing (and shopping) for Anna's first birthday. I always have a grand idea in my head but then it sometimes doesn't live up to my huge, wonderful, perfect dreams but I'm giving into that and just going to have fun.
Here we go...I've completed the invitiations and will be mailing them this next week and I started working on the pennant banner to hang from the mantle, in front of the pink chenille chair Anna will sit in (yeah right) while she opens her presents (yeah right...more like eats the paper!) I have all the candy purchased and all the jars and containers purchased for the candy bar. My bestie Kristin is making Anna's Birthday cake, I have the menu planned, I have to work on washing and putting gungham ribbon on the mason jars, I have a wreath made for the front door, and of couse everything is pink and yellow!! :) Oh, I have purchased the photo book of pictures of her first year that will serve as the guest book, I got the "Thank you" stickers and have them on the vellum bags for the thank you candy bar, I still need to make the tissue paper balls and...I'm not sure what I am forgetting but I'm having fun and can't wait to see it all put together! Here's some pics of my progress so far...lots more to do.
Invites - yellow or pink card stock with alternating yellow or pink gingham paper and the party details printed on vellum. All "wrapped up" with some rick-rack ribbon and a daisy with a button center. These took more time than I anticipated and more money than I thought...next year I'm probably going to just order them from some place.
The pennant banner that reads "Happy Birthday Anna" that will hang on the mantle.
