baby 2 - macy jane!

Last night we found out that we are expecting another baby girl! I was getting so anxious because it took a while for the tech to find the area she was looking for and then she said, "Well, the baby's legs are closed..." and started "hitting" on my belly with the wand trying to get the baby to move. She moved somewhat and the tech said, "it looks like a girl...I just need a better look."

One of my fears of finding out was that we'd go in and we'd actually not be able to find out because the baby wouldn't cooperate. So, I looked at Blake and gave him that look, the, "I-knew-we-weren't-going-to-be-able-to-find-out!!" The tech asked me to roll over on my left side for a while and I rolled back and we tried again. Then, she had me get up and jump up and down. LOL!

Finally, even though the baby kept her legs crossed at the ankles her thighs opened up enough for her to say it was a girl and get some good pictures.

We were excited and told Anna, "You're going ot have a baby sister." she shook her head "no." Haha! But, this morning she said she was excited to have a sister and once we have a name we can talk more about her and pray for her instead of "baby" This is one of the main reasons we wanted to find out this time around was so we could prepare Anna and since the beginning Anna has referred to "him" and "brother" Even when I showed her the first sonogram pictures she grabbed the picture and said, "I wanna hold him" So, we knew that since the baby has a 50% of not being a boy we should find out so we can prepare Anna and talk specifically about him or her. Now, we can! Anna's baby sister! :)

Anna also kept telling us that her tummy hurt and she needed on the bed. and on the way home she said "I need to go in the office...my tummy hurts." because she wanted to get her tummy looked at too.

We asked Anna what we should name her baby sister and she said, "A-N-N-N-N-N-A" (how she spells her name) and we laughed and said that would be very confusing and if we sent her sister to time out how would she know we weren't sending her to time out.

The cutest part, the part I wish I had my camera, was when the tech turned on the sound and let us hear the heartbeat. Anna's jaw fell and she stared at the screen in awe. It was a precious moment.

I can't wait to hold this precious baby and see her and see if she looks just like her big sister. I'm so thankful for the gift of life and for being blessed with another healthy baby! God is good.

Things to Remember: You're Getting Heavy

I carried Anna into school this morning to steal some extra kisses and once we got in the door she said, "Momma, let me down. You're getting to heavy." Haha! We've been telling her how big and heavy she's getting and it's harder to hold her. She must think just not wanting to be held means i'm getting heavy too. :)

Pregnancy #2: 15 weeks, 5 days

How Far Along: 15 weeks 5 days

Fruit: baby is the size of an apple

Size: 2 1/2 ounces

Baby changes: Legs are growing longer than arms now. Eyelids are still fused shut but light can be sensed. Baby can now wiggle its fingers and toes and make breathing movements in preparation for life outside of the womb.

Best Moment this week: Feeling the baby move on and off. I went to my regular dotor appointment today and everything sounded good. We actually can hopefully find out on Thursday what this little baby is! We are going to an ultrasound place that specializes in 3 and 4d and early gender determinations. That's going to be pretty exciting!

This morning on the way to dropping Anna off we were talking about the baby and she said, "Momma. this is MY baby, ok??" She's so funny and I hope that she's a great big sister...until s/he takes her toys! ;)

Gender: Unknown - Hopefully we will know by this time on Thursday!

Movement: Started feeling the baby, for sure, this week.

Food Craving: Nothing too bad...I still like potatos and salty things - chips, the sun harvest cheddar ones are the bomb.

What I miss: Sleeping through the night

Sleep: See above...not getting a lot of it. But, I shouldn't complain now.

What I am looking forward to: This Thursday! Finding out the sex!

Symptoms: Just growing pains...I can feel my stomach getting bigger and I feel extra fat lately.

Total weight gain/ Loss {ya right}: my doctor's office computer was down and so I don't know...

Maternity clothes? Yes. Blake jokes and said it was the only reason I wanted to get pregnant.

Have you started to show yet?
yes

Labor signs: No

Belly Button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Mood? more easily irritated at little things. lol.

Things to remember: by-la-hess

I have to piggy back off of the last post because this happened a couple months ago but I didn't get it down. Anna, since pretty soon after she started her new day care back in April, would sing, "by-la-hess" and for the life of us we couldnt figure out what song she was singing. We asked teachers what song it might be and they didn't know either.

Finally, one night my parents were over and we were singing songs that she knew from school. One of her faves is my god is so big, so strong and so mighty there's nothing my god cannot do! We were singing and got to the sort that goes, "the mountains are his, the valleys are his. The stars are his handy work too!" And guess what Anna sang? "The mountains his, the by-la-hess" lol! She was saying all along, the valleys are his!! :)

Things to remember: power, wonder working power!

<p>I love hearing Anna sing songs and she loves to sing. Each Wednesday they have chapel at day school and they sing! This morning she came strolling in the kitchen singing, "power! Power! Wonderful!" And it got me singing the hymn too...which happens to be one of my faves. "Power, power wonder working power in the blood of the lamb!" :) she sang while I was buckling her up and it brought me much joy!

I love Anna and her love of singing, music, and love that her day school is apart of our church!

Things to remember : Daddy is my Father

Anna keeps telling me during bath time that her daddy is her father. Over and over. :) I wonder if it's all just confusing to them. Mommy, mother, mom, momma, father, daddy...all the same name for one thing. :)
